Access statements

Vin Goodwin is able to provide access statement reports for planning applications (for inclusion into the DAS report), listed building consent, building regulations and for building owners/managers. An access statement can also provide a useful tool to identify where built elements need to be supplemented by management policies and procedures.

Access statements provide information on the policies, guidance, constraints and philosophy adopted for a development. It will outlin the access and inclusion measures incorporated into a scheme and explain how the scheme meets or exceeds legislation and other requirements relating to inclusive design. Reference will made to the relevant design guidance including Parts M, T and K of the Building Regulations, BS8300, PAS 6463 and other good practice guidance relating to access and inclusion.

Access statement reports can be provided on request or as part of our access consultancy service. Each access statement will be tailored to suit the particular scheme and provide a summary of the measures incorporated to facilitate good access. The reports will outline specific constraints of the site or building and describe how these have been overcome and the design rationale adopted.
