Access=Design are able to provide fully detailed access statement reports for planning applications, listed building consent, building control and for building owners/managers. An access statement can also provide a useful tool to identify where built elements need to be supplemented by management policies and procedures.
Access statements will give information on disabled access and contain an explanation of measures incorporated within the scheme to meet legislation and other requirements relating to accessibility and inclusive design. Reference is made to Part M of the Building Regulations relating to access and use of buildings. The reports explain how a good standard of accessibility is achieved, giving details of any constraints on the site and development where this affects access.
Access statements can be provided on request or as part of our access consultancy service. Each access statement will be tailored to suit the particular scheme and provide a summary of the measures incorporated to facilitate good access. The reports outline specific constraints of the site or building and describe how these have been overcome and the design rationale adopted.
